Information on the activities of the Confucius Uzbek-Chinese Institute at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies
The Confucius Institute under the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies (hereinafter – the Institute) was established in 2004 on the basis of the “Agreement on cooperation in the establishment of the Konfucius Institute in Tashkent” between the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of the PRC.
Currently, the Institute employs 26 teachers of the Chinese language, 8 of whom are volunteers from the Chinese side and 18 teachers of the faculty of Chinese Studies at Tashkent State Institute of Civil Engineering, as well as graduates of Tashkent State Institute of Civil Engineering. The total number of regular students for 2018-2019 exceeded 800 people. Since its establishment at the Institute, more than 4,000 students have been trained.
The Director of the Institute from the Uzbek side is a candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Nosirova Saodat Abdullaevna.
The director of the Confucius Institute from the Chinese side is the doctor of geological sciences, professor at Lanzhou University, Jan Taibao.
The institute is located at A.Temur St., 26 (on the third floor of the right wing of the Polytechnic College building. The building was transferred to the balance of the Tashkent State Institute of Civil Engineering in 2018).
